I'm sitting here in our living room enjoying a nice hot cup of tea and watching the sun come up. Ralph is out for jog. The temperature is already quite nice. It's going to be a beautiful day. There isn't a cloud in sight. We're golfing this afternoon so this morning is our's to enjoy. We'll start with a leisurely breakfast at the Sea Captains house and then probably spend a couple of hours by the pool. Can't think of anything nicer than that!!.
Ralph and Grace have been happily married for 45 years and currently reside in Dutton, Ontario. We have a beautiful daughter Laura who is married to Jason Van Meppelenscheppink. Jason and Laura have three beautiful children (Jordan, Hailey and Brody) and they currently live in St. Thomas. This blog is about our lives and how richly we have been blessed.

Amazing dinner - Golfstream Cafe
Last year when we visited Myrtle Beach with Lawrence and Teresa, we were looking for this restaurant on Murrell's Inlet that was said to have the best She Crab soup. I think we found that restaurant and we'll certainly come back here. This restaurants was located on the island and was right by the beach and intercoastal waterway. The food was outstanding. We started with She Crab soup, then a salad with home made dressing (to die for) and then the main course. I had flounder and scallops that just melted in your mouth and Ralph had the Tilapia. Yummy. We'll definately keep this restaurant on our list of choices. The restaurant itself was quite interesting, two floors with a great view. It was made out of rough hewn wood (post and beam). While eating you are encouraged to go out onto the balcony and enjoy the view.
Monday update
We woke up to fog, lots of fog. It must be the warm air that is coming in because today turned out to be amazing. Our tee-off was at 7:30, nice and early. We finished our round at 11:00. It was a nice course, very narrow with lots of water. It was the perfect course to start our week on. Ralph shot a 90 and I shot a 97 so it was a good start to the week. We tried to get into the Hooty and the Blowfish tournament in the afternoon only to discover that they had sold out of tickets. They only had 1 ticket left. Oh well, we returned to our hotel and relaxed by the pool this afternoon. It was really nice and warm this afternoon.
We're planning to go for dinner in Murrel's Inlet. The weather is suppose to get progressively warmer as the week goes on. I`ll have to be careful as I`ve already got a bit of a sunburn.

Having a good time
The weather is beautiful and we are enjoying ourselves alot. Yesterday we went to Charleston for the day. What a fun day. We walked around the various streets and enjoyed shopping at the old Slave Market. We had an awesome dinner at Sesame and Beer - which was a burger restaurant that was in Charleston. The food was amazing. It's definately a place to come back to. Today we had a quiet day. After listening to our sermon we went for a nice walk along the beach and sat by the pool for a couple of hours. It was so nice just to relax and do nothing. Tomorrow we're golfing at Aberdene in the morning and then we plan to go to the Hooty and Blowflish Charity Golf tournament in the afternoon. The weather is suppose to be really nice.

Happy Birthday Hailey
Our little TinkerBell turned 3 today!! Happy Birthday to Hailey. We love you very much.
On our way
We got up early this morning and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. We then headed to Sharon to visit North America's largest shoe store. It was a bit of a disappointment. I was expecting a much larger variety. Oh well, we've been there, seen that and we moved on. We're currently in Little Rock South Carolina. We're about a 3 hour drive to Charleston. We plan to spend the day there tomorrow. The drive was quite nice. The tree's are all bursting into bloom. They were quite beautiful to see. We had a really nice dinner at Harry & Jean's at the recommendation of the hotel concierge. It was a really good choice.

Hmmmm, I'll make that mistake again
It's Thursday night around 10:00 p.m. We arrive at the Hampton and request our "pre-registered" room. I'm told that there isn't a reservation for us? That's funny, I made the reservations well in advance so off Ralph went to the car to pull out the papers. Can you believe it, I booked us for yesterday :-(. Boy did I feel silly. Not to worry though, the front desk was very accomodating and gave us a suite instead of a regular room all for my original booking price. Wasn't that nice! A great way to start our vacation.
We had fun shopping at Grove City Outlet Mall. It's huge!! There are so many stores and everything except bathing suits are tax free. I wish we had more time to shop, but it's nice to know that it's only a 5 hour drive from Toronto, so we can always comes back and spend a weekend. Ralph found a new pair of glasses at the Oakley store and I was able to get two nice summer tank tops as well. It was fun and relaxing walking through the big shopping center.
Tomorrow morning we're going to go to Reyer's - North America's largest shoe store. I read that they also have Brighton Jewellery so it's sure to be a fun morning. Then we'll point the truck south and continue on to Myrtle Beach.
Our drive down to Grove City was not bad, but we had rain all the way. The temperature fluctuated from 41 to 51F. Hopefully it will warm up soon. We still have about 12 hours of driving to go.
It sure is nice to be on vacation.
