Day 2 - Myrtle Beach

The morning dawned cold and crisp. Imagine our shock when we heard that it was on 37 degrees F. Brrrr, it was cold. We dressed in layers to make sure that we were able to stay warm. I had 5 layers on. A t-shirt, a thin long sleeve shirt, a cotton sweater, a vest and my windbreaker. It was so bundled that it was hard to hit the ball. Teresa, Ralph and Lawrence were all the same way. We had lots of fun joking with the people at the course. They told us that the seat warmers were on in the carts (they called them bum warmers) and the window was up to keep the breeze off of us. The day warmed up as time went by. By 9:00 a.m. I was able to take my jacket off, but it never really got much warmer than 50 degrees. It was hard to warm up. Burning Ridge is a beautiful golf course. The difficulty is in the narrowness of the fairways. There is some water and lots of sand. You really want to stay out of the bunkers though as the walls as very high. It was a real test of our skill when we got in them. The sun was shining all day. We enjoyed a nice walk at Barefoot landing. We ate dinner at Joe's Crab shack. Tonight we enjoyed the hot tub. It's on main level of the hotel and is open to the elements. You can feel the wind blowing.

Tomorrow it should be a little warmer. We're off to The Wizard tomorrow. We're looking forward to another fun day.

A fun vacation

We're here in Myrtle Beach and having an awesome time. We've played our first game at Myrtle Beach National and it was awesome. The course is really nice and this was an excellent one for us to play our first game on. We had lots of dew this morning which made things very wet. The weather was warm and we really enjoyed ourselves. We went to the Marsh Walk in Merrells Inlet and went for a walk this afternoon. This evening the weather turned much coolerand it was down to 50 degree's by dinner time. Tomorrow we're off to Burning Ridge which is suppose to be a nice place.

We're off!!

Well it's finally here.....we've flown the coup and are heading southbound for warmer weather, relaxation and an over-rated US dollar bill... Ouch - the last time I checked the US dollar was $1.28. Can it get any higher. It's crazy - it has climbed .11 cents in the last 7 days. Oh well, we're off on an adventure and we'll relax and be away from the hustle and bustle of work. See you all when we return.

Please pray for Ralph's Dad

This week Ralph's Dad had hip replacement surgery. The surgery went well. He will need to spend alot of time recovering and may need to be in rehabilitation for a few months. Please pray for Ralph's Mom and Dad to give them the strength and patience that they need during this time.

Happy Birthday Jordan

Our first Granddaughter has turned 3 today!! I had a chance to speak with her on the phone and it was so sweet. She is so excited about this being her special day. Laura and Jay are spending lots of time making it special and she was certainly enjoying her birthday gifts today. Playdough is the gift for 3 year olds!! She was really excited by the Veggie Tale DVD's as well.

God Bless you Jordan!

Almost 3 years old

In two more days we celebrate Jordan's birthday! I'm so amazed that she is turning 3 already. She is such a beautiful little girl and a big sister to Hailey. We're really looking forward to seeing the family when we get home from Myrtle Beach. I miss them all and look forward to our time together.

Only 3 more sleeps

It's kind of like going for "par"... 3 more sleeps is equal to a par 3 - you're excited to finally be reaching this point. Tomorrow will be even better as we "birdie" the week with only 2 more sleeps. Can you tell I'm getting excited. I just checked the weather forecast and it's going to be in the low 70's for the beginning of the week and then gradually getting colder. It will be nicer than here I'm afraid to say but "hey" we'll take it.

I know the trip will go by quickly, but it sure will be nice to get away. Sandra will look after the house and Oakley and it feels nice to know that she's there. Oakley will enjoy the company.

Hmnmmm, where have I been?

Sorry folks, but I've been busy doing work in Mississauga for the past couple of weeks and it's been keeping me busy. It's Thanksgiving this weekend and it's going to be busy for us. Saturday we're playing golf and Sunday we're doing the final close up at the trailer. On Monday we hope to play another round of golf as well. It's only two weeks before we leave for our vacation, so we want to keep practicing. The weather is nice and warm in Myrtle Beach so we're hoping that it will stay that way while we're away.

The diet continues....

Yes, I know, it seems like I've been dieting for a year now, but it's slowly working. You don't gain all this weight in a few days and therefore you don't loose it in a few days as well. I'm down 10 lbs since joining Herbal Magic and I've lost 10 inches. My t shirts are not as snug and I'm loosing weight up top, but nothing yet around my waist (argh!!!). But, I won't be discouraged, it will come off. I hope to be down another 4-5 lbs by the time we go to Myrtle Beach. My pants are all loose around the hips and off course I'm loosing my bum (it's usually the first to go :-))...
I'm glad that it's working...
