Nearing the end

We started our season in the rain..... so it was suitable to finish our season in the rain.  We had a 4:12 tee off time and so far the day had been beautiful.  A little cool, but still a great day.  I picked up Arja at 3:15 and we headed off to the course.  Grace was already there and we were able to tee off at 4:00 p.m.  No one else seemed to be there.

It started to rain on the first hole and continued raining through the 9 holes.  We didn't see anyone else on the course and while we were on the 8th hole a marshall came out to see if there was anyone still golfing.  It would appear that we were the only ones on the course.  Although very wet, we had a great time together.  We ended our evening with a nice dinner at Grace's house.  We all wish that the season doesn't have to end.

The season is nearing it's end

A toast to Grayson as we celebrate his first year birthday.

Yup, it's a little chilly out here.

The boy's teeing off.

Sandra calling to let them know that they are ok!

Reminding Teresa that we are playing off the "ladies tee's" not the black tee's.

It's going to warm up!! That was what we all said as we tee'd off for final full round of golf this year.  We travelled to Black Diamond which is in Pontypool just off highway 115.  What a beautiful course.  You wouldn't think it is as scenic as it was.  The first 9 plays very much like a link style course with the back 8 surprising you with rolling hills and lots of challenges.  We had a great day all together.  This course is very challenging. I'd like to play it again soon.

Happy birthday Jordan

6 years old.  It's hard to imagine that our little Jordan is already 6 years old.  We had a wonderful day all together.  It was warm enough for us to all go to the park and spend time together.  We love our special visits together.

Giant Pumpkin

Driving to Laura and Jay's house, we passed by this market place and just had to stop to take a picture... I wonder how much this pumpkin weighs?

Dinner with Mom and Dad

What better way to celebrate the arrival of "fall" than to go out for dinner with Dad and Mom.  We went to the Mandarine and enjoyed a wonderful evening all together.  We sure laughed alot and then afterwards enjoyed a nice evening all together.

Homeward bound

We were up early and finished our packing.  We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast at the Sea Captains house and enjoyed listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the shoreline.  It was an overcast morning, which meant a good day to travel.  Early this morning, we witnessed a wedding on the beach from our balcony.  I think it was a bit cool as the wind was blowing quite strong today.  The waves were quite large for the last 3 days.

On our way home, we took a slight detour and drove to Leopards Chase in North Carolina.  Ralph had forgotten his sunglass case at the golf course.  Luckily someone turned it in and he was able to retrieve it.

We drove as far as Morgantown, West Virginia today.  We have about a 6 hour drive tomorrow.  We arrived here around 7;30 which was pretty good.  We have about 6 hours of driving left.

We had an awesome vacation.

Our last day

This morning, we were up early to watch the sun come up. It was a beautiful morning.  Our lesson was scheduled for 9:15 and we arrived in plenty of time to get ready do some warm ups.  The  lesson was interesting, focusing  on having the right grip, loose swing and right rythym.  It was an interesting lesson and gave us something to think about.

Now we were faced with a choice.  What to do this afternoon - golf or spend time at the beach?  Golf won out and we played a round at Possum Trot.  It was a very forgiving golf course, but not necessarily one we would do again. In comparison to the other 5 courses that we played, this was definately not at the same level.  But  as Lawerence says, we can't eat steak all the time.  We enjoyed our round and the beautiful sunshine that we were blessed with.

We're planning to go our for dinner shortly and then go to the Octoberfest that is being run by the boardwalk.
