City Walk

Last night we went to City Walk and enjoyed dinner at Margaritaville. It was fun to walk around and see all the people. We were stuffed when we finished dinner. They have the most awesome natcho's. We watched the movie "Push" last night which was interesting. Today we're off the Falcon's Fire. It's a beautiful day finally. You can go without a jacket which will make it nice to golf.

Tuesday, December 29, 2009

Well it's been two days since our last update. We've played some awesome golf the last couple of days. Yesterday we were at Orange County National which is a course that has two 18's, one of which we golf which was called the Crooked Cat. It was quite a challenging course. It had lots (and I mean lots) of bunkers and they were all protecting the green. You couldn't be timid on this course as it was very unforgiving. We played in the afternoon and it was quite nice, although it got pretty chilly for the last couple of holes. We finished around 5:30 which was pretty good
as it only took us 3 hours to complete our round. Ralph shot an 89 yesterday and I shot a 104.

This morning we got up early and went to Harmony Golf Preserve. I wore 4 layers of clothing. It was very cold - 39F and we were one of the first people to tee off. It was great today. Nature was out in abundance. That's what we love about this course. The birds were amazing. I have to say as well that I'm extemely happy with my 3 hybrid that I bought in Myrtle Beach. It sure can hit a ball. Ralph is really enjoying his new Iron's as well. A pretty awesome birthday present he keeps saying. We played a good game and Ralph shot an 87 and I finally broke 100 and shot a 99. I'm prettty happy with that. I could have done better but I had two holes where I just fell apart. Oh well, it will get better.

Tomorrow we're going to Falcon's Fire which is about 15 minutes away from our Condo.

We're enjoying a coffee and tea right now at Starbucks and we play to go to Universal Studio's City walk and enjoy dinner and browsing around there for a couple of hours.

We hope you are all doing well. Isn't it great news about Rob and Kristen? We're so happy to hear.

Cheers.

Sunday, December 27, 2009

Today is chilly, actually feel's cold. Ralph and I are just back from church where we heard a very good sermon on the lost sheep. Rev. Sproul is a very gifted preacher and we enjoyed the sermon. The service was in their new church facility. What a huge building. It was full as well which is really something to experience.

Today will most likely be another quiet day. It's raining out now, so we don't plan to go to the beach or anything like that. We have booked 3 golf games in the next couple of days. Tomorrow we're going to a course called Orange County National - which is where the LPGA is sometimes played. We're playing the Crooked Cat which should be interesting. On Tuesday, we're back at Harmony Golf Preserve and then on Wednesday we're going to Falcon's fire which is only about 10 minutes away from our condo. The weather is suppose to warm up as the week progresses.

We enjoyed a nice dinner for Ralph's birthday last night at a restaurant called BJ's Alehouse...The food was delicious. We finished off the evening by watching Transformers. It was a nice day.

Enjoying the sunny south

Well today was BEAUTIFUL!!! Ralph and I had a 9:30 round of golf at Harmony Golf Preserve. Our game wasn't stellar, but what can you expect after not golfing for a couple of months. We golfed with a gentleman from New York who had just purchased a condo in the area. His name was CJ. He was very nice. Yesterday was spent getting our bearings and doing a bit of shopping. Today we planning on eating at home and tomorrow after church we'll make our own Christmas dinner at the condo. We've purchased all our supplies and hope that we have the right pots and pans to get everything together. It's suppose to be warm again tomorrow but with some rain.

We're having a nice relaxing time. We already booked another tee-0ff at Harmony for Tuesday morning. They have a 2 for 1 special on that day so it works out perfect!!
We saw an alligator (picture on my other camera) and also some cranes. They were pretty awesome.

We hope you all are enjoying yourselves and we pray that you all have a blessed Christmas tomorrow.

We're here

The drive down was very good. We stopped in Savannah on the way and spent a couple of hours exploring the historic part of the city. It would be nice to spend some more time there. Maybe next time we'll plan for that.
We arrived around 6:30 and had no problem finding the condo. It's on the outskirts of Orlando and is in a nice area. The condo itself is small, but good enough for Ralph and I. Upon unpacking I discovered that my sandals were forgotten at home :-(. All I have with me is a pair of boots and my loafers. They sure look funny with my capri's. We're off shopping today to rectify that problem.

We went grocery shopping last night and got ourselves set up with breakfast's and lunches. We ate dinner at the condo and enjoyed a movie last night. It was a nice way to relax.

Today, we'll do a little shopping and get our bearings. The weather is nice right now at 65F. We discovered that the internet isn't working at the condo so our updates will be a little sporatic. We're currently sitting in Starbucks enjoying a tea and coffee while I update the blog. We hope you all are having a nice week. Talk to you soon.

Day 1 - Our drive down

Well it started off as a nice morning. We were on the road by 6:00 a.m. and the roads were nice and clear. No problems crossing the border, as a matter of fact there was no line...we drove straight through. Nice eh! The snow came when we hit Pennsylvania. The roads weren't bad, but there sure was more and more snow as we drove south. Our windshield was hit by a stone that was thrown by a snowplough and I think we'll need to replace it once we reach Florida. We have a pretty big crack in our windshield on the passenger side.

We drove as far as Columbia, South Carolina. We arrived here at 8:30 and enjoyed a nice dinner at Chili's. The temperature is currently 38F. We're surprised that it hasn't warmed up much yet.

We plan to be on the road again sometime around 7:00 a.m. tomorrow.

Working on my Album

Thought I would share a few pages from my album!!

Homeward bound

We got up early on Sunday morning and went for a nice breakfast at the Sea Captains house. I enjoyed a delicious meal of Crabcake Benedict. I'll have to make that at home some time! It was awesome. After breakfast we loaded up the car and was on the road by about 9:00 a.m. While driving Teresa and I worked on our albums. I've got 27 pages done and Teresa has around 24 done. Ralph and Lawrence commented on how quiet the drive was. It sure made the drive go by quicker.

The colours were beautiful, I think the tree's are now at their peak.
