Florida 2013

I'm feeling very good about what I am accomplishing.  I'm now caught up with my vacation books.  This is our trip this winter with John, Grace, Teresa and Lawrence.  We stayed in  Davenport, Florida which is just about 20 minutes away from the Disney Theme parks.  It's a good place to stay with lots of golf courses in the near vicinity.  We were really blessed with good weather while we were away.  This book is a nice memory of our time together.

Charleston and Myrtle Beach August 2012

It took me a while to finish this book, but I'm happy to say that it's finally done.  I've been working on catching up on all my projects.  This was our vacation last summer to Charleston and Myrtle Beach.  We had a wonderful time.  It was on this vacation that Laura and Jay shared the news about a new family member expected to arrive in March.  We certainly have all been blessed.

Pines of Georgina

The 2nd round of spring.  The day started out bright and sunny which was a good sign.  We were on the road by 10:30 and pointed the car north.  We were headed for Pines of Georgina Golf Course.  This was one of the rounds on our Ontario Tee-Time card that we purchased at the golf show this year.  We thought it would be best to play this round either early or later in the year  to avoid mosquito's and black flies.  We made a good decision to go yesterday.  The course wasn't busy which was nice as we could take our time.  The day was beautiful and we were able to take our jackets off and actually play in tee-shirts.  I even saw a mosquito yesterday.  By the size of the one I saw, I'm thankful we went here early.  I think it's going to be a bad year for these pesky critters.

Our game was fun and we all really enjoyed ourselves.  The course was a little wet, but not bad considering all the rain that we have had.

Fascinating to see how the bark on this tree was growing.

There are lots of bird houses on this course.

No leaves yet on the trees.

A narrow fairway.

Our first round this spring

As a thank you for attending the Golf show in March, we received free passes for a round of golf at Tangle Creek in Barrie.  The day started off cold -3c but we were determined to make the best of it.  The was in pretty good shape considering they still had snow last week in their bunkers.  It was sunny all day and not that bad when you were out of the wind.  By late afternoon the temperature got as high at 13c.  A bit chilly but still a nice day.

Signs of Spring

Most of the time, I find squirrels to be a real nuisance, but in the spring I smile and thank them for the pockets of treasures that come up in the garden.  I find these lovely surprises all over the property, from crocus to snowdrops to tulips.  This year is no exception.  Popping out, inbetween the dull brown colour of the garden is the vibrant colour of yellow's, purples and white.

I love spring!

Down and out

Ever have those weeks?  Well, it's been one for me.  I have been down with the flu/cold since Wednesday. I went home early and slept away most of the day. On Thursday I made the mistake of going back into work and then visiting with my Mom.  I should have known better, but I hate to miss the visit with my Mom.  I stayed in bed all day Friday again.  Today, I've been up for most the day, but feel feverish now and I have a major sinus infection. Ralph and I spent the day shopping for tile for our bathroom (renovations are on the horizen) and then Teresa and I paid a vist to Izod (Friends and family weekend).  I think I'm paying for this activity now. Hopefully it won't last too long.

I really do dislike not feeling well!
