North Cape and homeward bound

We were up early this morning in anticipation of a long car ride home.  We wanted to go to the North Cape before going though as we had heard that this was a very scenic area to visit.  We stopped at little villages along the way which was fun.  The North Cape wasn't exactly what we were expecting when we first got there, but our disappointment turned into enjoyment once we walked out to the point and explored the area.  The wind was blowing so hard, at points we thought we would be blown over.  I talked to someone that was working there and she told me that the wind gets even worse in the spring and winter.  It was really nice and definately an area worth exploring in more detail if we ever visit again.

Final days on the Island

Sadly our vacation is nearing an end.  Today was our last full day.  We spent the morning golfing at Anderson.  We were able to get 27 holes in.  We golfed in the rain for the first two hours and then the sun came out and we were blessed with a beautiful breezy day.  We enjoyed some fresh mussels on the  patio after our round of golf and then later in the afternoon, John and Grace took Tony and Arja to the airport.  We were sad to see our friends leave.  We drove into Charlottetown for dinner and did a little bit of shopping.  We enjoyed dinner at Fishbone -Oyster Bar and Seafood Grill, a local restaurant.  It was really good and the fish and lobster were very fresh.  Our evening was spent packing up. Tomorrow we hope to take a detour on our way home and dtrive to "North Cape" the furthest most northern point of the island.  We all want to see the cliff's as they are said to be quite beautiful.  From there we will start our drive home.  Our plan is to drive as far as Levis, Quebec.

This has been a really fantastic vacation.
Not sure how Teresa is able to see her ball!

Our villa - we could see it from the golf course.

Complimentary mussels at the end of the round

You have to try icecream from Cow"s creamery

Friday - At the Gables

Today we golfed at the Gables which is a sister course to the Anderson course that we have played.  It was a nice course with rolling hills.  I was surprised that we came to the coast while playing.  There is lots of pine trees on this course and it hugs the property of Anne of Green Gables.  We played 27 holes today and then the rain started to pour.  Our Lobster tour which was planned for the evening was cancelled as a result of the Thunderstorm that came rolling in.  We decided to go out for dinner all together and went to The Shaw's Restaurant which is located in a very old hotel (146 years old) in Brackley Beach.  The food was delicious.

We saw another fox today.

Thursday - Glasgow Hills Golf Course

Part of the welcome package - each of us has a different logo ball.

This fox decided to follow us during the 11th hole.  It wasn't frightened at all.

Visiting one of the lighthouses.  Ralph and I love to explore.

If someone asked me what the most difficult thing was from this vacation, I would have to say it was selecting which pictures to post and share with everyone.  What an amazing vacation!  Today we golfed at Glasgow Hills.  It is said to be the most scenic course on the island.  The views are magnificant.  We enjoyed a fun but very challenging round. The greens were so difficult.  We still enjoyed ourselves.  In the afternoon, John and Grace and Tony & Arja played a 2nd round while the four of us (Teresa and Lawrence, Ralph and I) decided to tour the island a bit.  We drove to the coast and took some pictures of the local light houses.  It is so beautiful along the cost.  It was an amazing day.

Wednesday at Eagle Glenn

It was another beautiful and warm day.  We golfed at Eagle Glenn which was only about 10 minutes away from our villa.  The course was pretty interesting and challenging.  So far we have not been disappointed by the golf.  It's been a lot of fun. The courses are in excellent condition.  The girls spent a quiet afternoon at the villa while the boys played another round.  We certainly have been blessed with beautiful weather this vacation.

A day at Crowbush

Today we golfed at Crowbush Golf Resort.  This course was about 1 hour away but well worth the drive.  It was right on the ocean and offered many scenic views.  This was a very challenging course.  We all enjoyed ourselves very much.  We golfed another 36 holes today.   We enjoyed a nice steak dinner all together back at our villa.  It is so relaxing enjoying and recapping our round over a glass of wine and good food.
