Day 5 - Magnolia Plantation

We were up with the birds.  At 6:30 all of us were already up getting dinner ready and preparing a nice breakfast to start the day.  We had baked eggs with fruit salad to start the day.  We drove to Magnolia Plantation which is in a Gated Community in Lake Mary.  The day was amazing.  The weather was so nice today. It was sunny all day and the temperature reached about 74 degree's.  There was a bit of a beeze, but we just loved it. It's so nice not to have to wear jackets.

We're relaxing at home right now enjoying a glass of wine and some snacks while dinner is cooking.  We're going to have a Lamb roast with wild rice for dinner.  It's cooking away right now.

It was a really nice start to our week.

Day 4 - Sanford

What a beautiful day. The birds are all singing and it makes you realize how much we miss them in the winter. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast before heading to Sanford to hear Rev. Sproul preach. He had an amazing sermon all about Jesus first visit to the temple. I really would like to hear his sermon next Sunday as I think it applies directly to what we have been studying at our bible study. We're going to try to pull it up on on the internet next Sunday. The weather is really nice and we thoroughly relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. Tonight we are going to make Butter Chicken for dinner (over rice). The house smells amazing. Grace is the cook today. We plan on making a Lamb roast which I will prepare early tomorrow morning before we leave for golf. Our round is at 11:00 so we won't be in a rush to leave. We are playing at Magnolia Plantation in Lake Mary. I just love it here. The weather is suppose to get progressively warmer this week. If it stays like we had today, we would all be thrilled.

Day 3 - Florida

Today was an amazing day! The weather was so beautiful. We arrived in Florida around noon todayand spent an hour or so in St. Augustine at the PGA Golf Tour Village.  It was really interesting. I wish I could show you pictures that I took but I had computer problems and all my pictures were lost.
Grace gave me hers' so at least I have some to share.

We did a little bit of shopping while in St. Augustine and then headed for Orlando.  Our house is really nice.  We have beautiful rooms and a very spacious living area.  We also have a nice pool and hot tub.  We enjoyed a nice dinner at Bahama Breeze.  We're now relaxing and catching up on emails.

Day 2 - Florida Bound

We were up early.  There was a thunderstorm around 3:00 a.m. that woke us up but we were able to fall asleep again.  We were up around 6:00 a.m.  We enjoyed a nice breakfast and were on the road by around 7:00.  We drove straight through to Brunswick, Georgia.  We have about more hours of driving left so we aren't in any rush.  The weather was rainy when we left,  but cleared up nicely while we were driving. The temperature when went up to 20c, it was beautiful today.  We stopped in West Virginia at Bear - Heaven - a place that I had wanted to find.  I loved it there and picked up two teddy bears for the girls.  We had a nice dinner tonight at Mill House Steak Restaurant. The food was good.  They had the cheapest drink's I have ever seen.  A martini was $1.99.  Amazing.

We're on our way

Well it's 9:40 and we have been at our hotel since around 7:45.  We're in Morgantown, West Virginia.  We left around 1:30 and drove through lots of rain.  It rained all the way here.  Surprisingly, the weather is nice and warm here.  We didn't bring winter coats, so we are going with a positive outlook.  We've enjoyed a nice evening all together.  We had an awesome care package from Lawrence and Teresa and as a result we didn't need to go out for dinner.  A special thanks for looking after us.

One more sleep

I never thought that I would be counting down the hours/days until my vacation. I love the planning of a vacation, it's what gets the excitement going. This year, we did lots of planning and I hope that Grace and John enjoy our week or so of adventures. We're packed full of golf - 6 days so far but we have a plan to book some golf in Savannah as well.

On Monday, we're golfing at Magnolia Plantation. Tuesday and Wednesday we're at Orange County Golf course. This is one of my favorites. We are golfing two courses - Crooked Cat and Pather Lake. Two years ago we saw a Bob cat at this course.

On Thursday we're golfing at Metro West and Friday were at Royal St. Cloud. Saturday will be a treat as we have a round at Bella Callina - a private course. After our game we'll point the car north and drive to Savannah. Weather permitting we'll do one more round here after spending a few days relaxing.

Follow along with us. I'll do my best to update my blog as often as I can.

Christmas 2011

I love Christmas with my family.  We had a wonderful time all together this year and it was extra special that Laura and Jay stayed to celebrate Ralph's birthday this year.  Thank you Laura and Jay, Jordan and Hailey for making  your Dad's day extra special.
