Last night was our first round of golf together. What a beautiful evening it was. There was only a few of us out on the course. We had a great time all together. We were able to get 15 holes of golf completed which was great. It's going to be a fun
year.
Ralph and Grace have been happily married for 45 years and currently reside in Dutton, Ontario. We have a beautiful daughter Laura who is married to Jason Van Meppelenscheppink. Jason and Laura have three beautiful children (Jordan, Hailey and Brody) and they currently live in St. Thomas. This blog is about our lives and how richly we have been blessed.

Brrrr - a round at Peninsula Lakes
We woke up to ice on the pond in our backyard. Hmmm I thought to myself - it's cold outside. The temperature gauge on our truck confirmed that it was. 0c was the reading. Are we crazy I thought to myself. It sure is cold to be golfing!!! We picked up Teresa and Lawrence and headed west to Peninsula Lakes. It was nice to see that we weren't the only golfers who decided to give the day a try.
So off we went with our hats and gloves on (mine weren't golf gloves, but my winter gloves for warmth). It was sunny which made it nicer but the temperature didn't warm up much past 4c. We enjoyed our round but agreed that it was much too cold chilly to have a really great game. We still really enjoyed ourselves.
After our round we enjoyed a nice glass of wine before heading over to Johnny Rocco's for dinner.
It was a nice day and an excellent beginning to the weekend.

31.....21.....11
31.....21.....11..... That's the temperature that we have been experiencing as we golfed over the last 2 1/2 weeks. It was 31c in Florida, 21c in Myrtle Beach and now 11c here in Toronto. It's quite a shock to feel the cold weather. We were bundled with 4 layers of clothes on.
I really hope that there weather warms up soon,.

Myrtle Beach - Day 7
Well it's our last day together. We woke up this morning to a cloudy sky but the sun did manage to peak around the clouds for a little while. I gave thanks that it wasn't raining. Everyone was up early and we headed over to The Sea Captains house for breakfast. Once again "Chicago" was in good spirits and made me an amazing omelet. Ralph was jealous.
After breakfast we went to the condo and got changed. We figured we better try to take some family pictures while it was still "dry" outside. We took a lot of different pictures. I was pleased with the results.
This afternoon we enjoyed time at the pool and then later Jay and the girls went into the ocean. We saw dolphin swim by as well.
To finish off our day, Ralph, Jordan, Hailey and I got a round of 18 holes of golf in. We were playing in teams - The Sail Makers (Ralph and Jordan) vs Captain Hook (Grace and Hailey). We had lots of fun together. We tied at the end of the 18 holes.
To finish off the day we went to the beach and played with sparklers. Everyone thought that was so much fun. We are so thankful that today ended up being really nice. We had a little rain but nothing that stopped us from having fun. What a wonderful family vacation we all had.

Myrtle Beach - Day 6
And the rain came down and down and down. I cannot believe that we are having rain every day this week. It some ways it puts kind of a "damper" on our holidays (no pun intended). This morning I woke up early with the hopes to get a picture of the sun rising. It didn't happen. The sky was so thick with clouds that it just got light. Oh well. The family was up early and by 8:00 we all headed over to the Sea Captains house for breakfast.
Our friend "Chicago" who makes the omelets every morning (except for weekends when George is there), was in a very good mood. I told him how much I enjoyed his omelets and he rewarded me with this most amazing omelet. You should have seen the expression on Ralph's face when he saw he. He told Chicago that he was disappointed that he didn't get the same treatment. This got a laugh from everyone.
We went for a really nice walk along the beach after breakfast. I'm so thankful that we did because around 10:30 it started to rain. It poured and poured for the rest of the day. The wind was really blowing as well and the temperature dropped at least 3 degree's. Can you believe this crazy weather??
In the afternoon we went to the Ripley's Aquarium. It was really nice and the kids really enjoyed it. They had some really beautiful fish there.
This evening we're planning on going out for a nice dinner together.
