Sandra's wedding

I'm a little behind in my blogging so I thought I would take some time this evening and catch up!

On September 6, Sandra and Sean Post were united in marriage.  The Lord blessed them both with a beautiful day.  Ralph and I took the day off on Friday, September 5 and met Laura and Jay in Jordan where the rehearsal was planned.  We were going to take care of Brody.  We enjoyed some time together in Jordan before the rehearsal was set to start and then afterwards Ralph and I took Brody to the Outlet Mall in Niagara where we could walk around and give Brody an opportunity to play in their playground.

It was fun watching him play and and also to see the reaction of the passersby.  He is such a cute little boy.

We enjoyed ourselves at Sandra's wedding on Saturday.  She was a beautiful bride and both her and Sean were very happy.

Our grandchildren

Each year at the beginning of school Laura takes pictures of the family.  It's hard to believe that the girls are already in grades 2 & 4.  They are growing up so fast.  Brody is already almost 1 1/2 years old.  Where does the time go?

A beautiful evening

It didn't look like we were going to have a nice evening for golf. The emails were being shared between all of us. Should we go? Will the rain stop? So far this year we have been pretty lucky so we decided to give it a try and see if the rain would stop long enough for us to get a round in. Grace, Teresa and I met at Cardinal and laughed when we got there. Sure enough, the rain had stopped. It rained all the way up from Toronto, but it was only overcast at the golf course. We were told that we could only play the east course and only the first 9 holes. That was ok. It was quiet at the course and the three of us had a wonderful time. We managed to play 14 holes of golf (we played the east twice). The sun even came out while we were golfing. All three of us played the 8th hole really well. We were really happy. It was a lovely evening and I'm really glad that we went.

The Bridgestone Invitational

This weekend Ralph and I went to the Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio.  This is a large PGA tournament.  There was so many world class golfers here.  We saw Phil Michelson, Rory Mcilroy, Sergio Garcia, Adam Scott, Justin Rose, Keegan Bradley, Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk,  Bubba Watso , Rickie Fowler, Matt Kuchar and Brandt Shnedeker just to name  few.  What great golfing we witnessed.  Brandt's ball went wayward on the 2nd hole and hit the lady next to me.  He was very concerned for her and apologized sincerely. He signed a golf glove of his and gave it her as part of his apology.

The weather wasn't the greatest and we had a few rain delays. I am glad we brought rainsuits and umbrellas with us.  We used them on and off while there.  We had great seats by the 2nd and 18th holes.

All in all we had a great time.

Weekend in Ohio

Ralph and I are spending the weekend in Streetsboro, Ohio.  We left early on Thursday morning and plan to say here until Monday.

We drove to Grove City, Pennsyvania on Thursday and spent a couple of hours at the outlet mall there.  It was fun and a nice way to relax.  After that we drove the rest of the way to our hotel.  We're staying at the Hampton.  After unpacking, we set out to explore.  We're not that far away from the Kent State University.  We went to this place called 101 Bottles of Beer where Ralph stocked up on a few different kinds of beer for the weekend.  They had so many varieties.  He looked for bottles with different beer caps on them as Kira asked if we could help them by collecting some for their collection.  After that we drove into town and found a nice restaurant for dinner.  We went to a place called Bar 145.  The food was casual but really delicious.  We ate outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather.  On Friday, we drove into Cleveland and did some exploring.  It's a nice city to visit.  We went to this place called B.A. Sweetie Candy Company.  It was huge!!    This store had over 3,500 different candies, many that we grew up with and no longer see. It was amazing.  It brought back childhood memories for us.  We enjoyed a really great lunch at Dickys BBQ pit.  It was soooo good.  In the afternoon we strolled through an Outlet Mall in Aurora, Ohio.  It was really nicely laid out and a nice way to spend some time while we waited for our afternoon tee time.

We then played a round of golf at Boulder Creek Golf Course.  What a great course!! It was so nicely laid out and very scenic.  It was quite challenging.  The course was very busy, so the round took about 4.5 hours to complete.  That was ok as we were enjoying the beautiful day.  We had some thunder that was rumbling around while we were there, but no rain happened and we didn't see any lightening.

We finished our day by having dinner at Ray's Place.  This was a pub in town.  It was nice and relaxed which we really enjoyed.

Tomorrow, we'll be up early as the tee times at the Bridgestone Invitational start by 7:00 a.m.  Since Phil Mickelson isn't doing really well - he'll be teeing off in the earlier groups so we want to be sure to be there early to see him.  We're really looking forward to seeing all the different players at this tournament.
