Arrowhead

Today was our last day of golfing.  We had a round scheduled for 8:06 this morning.  It was hot and humid when we got up.  It was already 25c when we were driving to the course.  Lucky for us, they let us go out earlier which was good as it started to rain just as we finished.  The course was nice and very lady friendly.  It wasn't too long for us but we still managed to get ourselves into trouble.

We performed our final game challenge and also selected the winner of the "Your Ball, Your Game".  Ralph won both challenges.  Congratulations to Ralph,  He had a pretty strong winning streak this year.

This afternoon I went walking along the beach looking for shells and also took some time photographing the waves.  The ocean is so warm and it's very relaxing to walk along the beach.

Tonight Ralph and I tried to take pictures of "burning" steel wool.  It didn't work out quite as well as we had hoped as it was very windy and we couldn't keep the steel wool burning.  It was still fun.

We finished off our evening with a "hot tub".  We hope to be on the road by 8:30 tomorrow as we have a 9 hour drive to our hotel.

It's the end of a wonderful vacation.  This was the best weather that we have ever had since coming down to Myrtle Beach.

Tidewater Golf Resort

When we left for golf this morning the temperature was already sitting at 21c and it warmed up to 29c throughout the day.  It was hot and muggy.

We golfed at Tidewater Golf Resort today.  This was a very beautiful golf course which played along the Marsh and throughout a beautiful sub-division.  Our round took about 4.5 hours.  By that time it was pretty hot out and we were searching for shade.

On our way back to the condo we stopped to do some final shopping at the Tanger Outlet Mall.  We then went back and enjoyed some time on our balcony before getting ready for dinner.  We drove out to Murrells Inlet and enjoyed an amazing meal at the Wicked Tuna.  Lawrence and Teresa enjoyed Grouper while Ralph and I enjoyed "Hog Fish".  It was so delicious.

We sat out on the balcony and watched the sun go down and the moon come up.  The moon was an amazing "harvest moon" and was a bright orange in colour.  It was so beautiful to see across the marsh.

It's not as crisp as I would like it, but this was taken on my smaller camera and hand held.  

As we were driving back to the condo we observed that the bikers had arrived for "bike week".  It had been fairly quiet but they are here now and are their bikes ever noisy.  There were so many of them, mostly in Murrells Inlet.  It's pretty interesting to see.

When we got back to the condo, I went out onto the balcony to look at the moon.  It was shining so brightly.   I love how the light is reflected on top of the water.

Today's competition was centred around the sum of all the Par 3's from today. Congratulations to Ralph for having the lowest overall score.

And the winner is....

It was getting late last night and I forgot to post our daily winner.  Congratulations to Lawrence who played an amazing game chipping in 2 times from off the green.  We were all pretty envious of how nicely the ball rolled directly into the cup.  There was no doubt in our minds that he was "on" his game!!

Last night Lawrence and Teresa declared that they are playing their Par 3 "game balls".  I'm sure that the competition will fierce!!

True Blue

Today we enjoyed a round of golf at True Blue.  It was a "hot" and humid day.  The course wasn't busy and we played at an enjoyable pace.  It's a challenging course with lots of water and sand.

After golf we went and browsed some shops at "The Hammock Shops" and then went to Huntington Beach where we walked and looked at the birds that were nesting and fishing in the Marsh.  There were Storks, Egrets, Herons, Spoonbills and other birds.  It was so beautiful and relaxing to watch them.  We walked along the boardwalk  and causeway which took us right into the Marsh for a great viewing experience.

We went to the Market Commons and enjoyed dinner this evening at Gordon Biersch.  We usually end up here at least once while we are visiting.  We weren't disappointed.

Prestwick Country Club

Today we golfed at Prestwick Country Club.  It was a very beautiful golf course and extremely challenging.  It felt like we were the only ones golfing as it was very quiet at the course.  There were many challenges that we encountered and every hole presented a new opportunity for us to add extra putts and strokes.

We all really enjoyed ourselves although our scores were not very good.  I'd love the play this course again.  The temperature started off cooler but it warmed up quickly.  It was an amazing day.

After we finished golf, we drove down to Murrell's Inlet where we walked along the Marsh Walk.  It was a nice way to spend the afternoon.  It's not a really long walk but you can enjoy the wildlife in the Marshes as you are strolling along.

This evening we had our Golfers evening.  You can certainly see that the numbers of golfers is down. We talked to our Golf Co-ordinator and she said that they had many cancellations due to the uncertainty of the weather although this weekend was suppose to be busy.  I guess we'll see what happens over the next few days.  Ralph and I both won prizes - a new golf towel and some balls and a marker.  It was fun.

We stayed at the condo for dinner.  Ralph cooked Mahi Mahi which turned out amazing.  We also had scallops, rice and beans.  Teresa made a nice salad and we were all pleasantly full.  We relaxed by watching a movie together.  It was a nice evening.

Today's competition was lowest number of putts on the par 3's.  It was a tie between Ralph and Teresa.  The tie breaker involved selecting a random hole and the lowest putts would win.  Congratulations to Ralph who once again has won the daily competition.  Great work by Teresa who also had an excellent score. Over 6 holes - both Teresa and Ralph had only 6 strokes.  Well done!
