TPC Myrtle Beach

We woke up to a cool morning again, but it was dry, so we were thankful.  It slowly got warmer as the day progressed.  Golf was fun and it was a challenging course. I really enjoy golfing this course as it tests my abilities as a golfer.  We took a fun walk along the beach later this afternoon.  The ocean is still warm but it has dropped a few degrees in the last couple of days.   It was a relaxing day for all of us.

The Dunes - Resort Club

Today we enjoyed a round of golf at The Dunes - Resort Club.  This is an awesome course that runs along the inter-coastal waterway.  Thirteen holes have water that comes into play on them.  Needless to say, this was one challenging course.  We had a great time.

We did a little bit of shopping in the afternoon and then enjoyed the golfers party that is put on by the Caribbean Resort.  It was fun and a relaxing way to end the day.

Myrtle Beach National - Kings North Course

Today we played in the rain.  The after effects of Tropical Storm Karen are still in the area. It wasn't  a hard downpour but enough to make you cold and damp.  The temperature dropped to 59F so it was a little chilly.  We enjoyed our round - although I will say that I played terrible today.  Hopefully tomorrow will be better.  We drove to Market Commons in the evening and enjoyed dinner at Gordan Biersch.  This is a micro brewery. Their food is delicious.

While in the Common's - we went into Williams and Sonoma and I bought a cheese making kit.  This winter I plan to make my own Mozzerella cheese. I've been trying to get this kit in Canada unsuccessully so I'm quite pleased that I was able to find it here.

Members Course - Grand Dunes

We woke to a beautiful and warm morning.  There was rain in the forecast for today.  We are receiving some of the tail end of Tropical Storm Karen.  We were blessed with a beautiful rainbow first thing as we were arriving at the course.  It was quiet on the course - we saw only two other sets of golfers so the round was at a nice pace - no rushing.  Ralph had an amazing game and shot a 79.  Not bad for someone who only had a few hours of sleep.  He had to work late last night and didn't get to bed before 2:30.  Needless to say he was pretty happy.  During our round it started to rain and by the last two holes it poured.  The afternoon was spent relaxing.  We enjoyed a nice dinner at the Gulfstream Cafe. They make the most amazing SheCrab soup.  We had fun playing cards in the evening.  We haven't done that for a long time and it was great.  Ralph won the first prize for the week - which was the "least number of bunker shots".  We have a total of 5 competitions this week.
