Leopard's Chase

This was by far, the most beautiful course that we have golfed on.  Everything about it was nice.  The people working on the course, the marshall's, cart ladies and pro shop.

We really enjoyed ourselves.  The weather was amazing today with the temperature reaching around 80F.  We ate a leisurely lunch at the clubhouse by Tiger's Eye and then worked our way  back to the condo. 

We enjoyed a relaxing evening having dinner at Gulfstream Cafe in Murrell's Inlet.  We watched the sun set and enjoyed a delicious meal of grouper and She Crab soup.... Yum, it was delicious.

Tonight we had our final draw for prizes. Ralph was the winner having the lowest score on holes 5, 7 and 14. Congratulations Ralph on having a great score!

36 Holes

Another sunny and beautiful day.  Our round today was at Lion's Paw in North Carolina.  I enjoyed playing this course.  We tee'd off around 8:00 and were done around 12:30.  Unfortunately the round was a little slow, but we still all enjoyed ourselves.

As the weather was so beautiful outside, we decided to play another round so we booked a replay at Tigers Eye.  We really enjoyed our first round here so decided to go back again.  We played fast and were done in just under 4 hours.  We had a great time.

After golf we drove back to Myrtle Beach and went to the Martin's Superstore.  They were having their golfers evening.  We all participated in a putting competition but unfortunately didn't win.  For dinner we drove to Market Commons and ate again at the Gordon Biersch. 

Todays competition was awarded to Teresa who had the most Par's on the back nine.  Way to go Teresa on a great round!

Pawley's Plantation

When we woke up this morning, it was several degree's milder.  It's going to be a nice day we said to ourselves! We enjoyed a nice breakfast at the Sea Captain's House and then headed for Pawley's Plantation.  It was busy when we got there. They told Ralph that they were fully booked for the day.

We had a fun round all together.  The sun was shining and it was a gorgeous day. By the 15th hole I was required to remove my left shoe because I had blisters on my heal.  These were new shoes and a sandal type, but clearly not suitable to this golf course with the dew and sand.  I'm sure I had more sand in my shoe than in the sand drop. 

We enjoyed lunch at the club house and then headed back to the condo.  We relaxed for a while in the Hot Tub before heading out to the Golf Social that is hosted by the Condo that we stayed at.

Ralph was selected as a winner for a golf lesson for up to 6 people ($175 value).  We are booked for this lesson for Saturday morning at 9:15.  This lesson is being held at Possem Trott.

We enjoyed Pizza at our room and conducted our group golf competition.  It was very close today.  The contest today was for the lowest putting score over 4 holes (1, 7, 13 and 18).  If there was a tie, the prize when to the lower score of these 4 holes.  Teresa, Lawrence and Grace were tied for the lowest number of putts, which meant we had to have a tie breaker.  Grace won in the end by 2 points.  It was very close.

While golfing we saw this bush that was full of Monarch's.  We were in a hurry so couldn't take the time to photograph it.  Thes monarch's are migrating south for the winder.

We really enjoyed our day all together.

The art of making Sea Salt

We have our first batch of sea salt ready.  We were amazed at how much it made.  It took about 4 hours to boil down two jugs.  It's a simple task, you walk into the ocean - far enough from the shoreline to ensure that you are not picking up sand from the waves.  Then you strain the water through cheese cloth - they recommend 4 layers, but we did about 6 just to be safe.  Put the pan on boils until it resembles a thick slush.  You then let it simmer until it's dry and voila - Sea Salt is made.

We went back to the ocean and retrieved two more jugs of water and are now in the process of making our second batch.  It is so easy to do.

Panther's Run

We are playing a series of 4 golf course in North Carolina - affectionally called "The Cats".  They consist of: Leopards Chase, Panther's Run, Lion's Paw and Tiger Eye.  These are all very different courses with different challenges.  Our impression of the first two courses was very positive.  It was another nice day although today it feels cooler as it is windy.  It's gorgeous out of the wind. 

In the afternoon we went to the Outlet Mall for a while.  We had a fun time shopping.  Dinner was at an Italian Restaurant called Rossi's which was nice.  The food was very rich.  

This evening we enjoyed a nice hot tub.  Teresa and I went into the ocean and got two jugs of salt water which we're boiling down now in an attempt to make sea salt.  I think this might be a two day process.  We'll see how long it takes.

Tomorrow we're off to Pawley's Island and golfing at Pawley's Plantation.  This is a great course which we have golfed before.  You golf through the salt marshes. It's very scenic and has some great holes.

We do a daily golf competition where we pulled random competitions out of a hat (after our game).  So far Ralph has won two days in a row.  Today was "most pars in game" and yesterday was "most pars in front 9"... Congratulations Ralph.
