Peninsula Lakes

We were up very early this morning and on the road by approximately 6:10 a.m.  John and Grace were the first to arrive and then we drove to pick up Teresa and Lawrence.  It's warm outside and looks like a beautiful day.  The course - Peninsula Lakes is amazing.  It's in great shape.  We had a lot of fun chasing our balls around the course. Grace and John joined us for the round of golf and stayed for lunch. Unfortunately they had to go home.  We're staying for the weekend and have another round planned for tomorrow. We're staying at the Hilton - it's a nice hotel.

I was looking at my pictures and I came across this one that we had taken at the tournament at Glen Eagle.  I really think this is a nice this picture of Claudia and I.

First place

Congratulations to Jay and his team-mates for taking first place in the men's 24 hour relay race at Albion Hills. They were riding their mountain bikes for the past 24 hours. Each rider did one lap (sometimes 2) around the course with an average time of 44-48 minutes per lap. They won the race and were 1 lap ahead of every other team. This was awesome. It was a grueling race and the boys were exhausted. No sleep for 24 hours, they road through the rain and the cold. They were glad when it was finished. Laura and Jay have now left for a week of vacation. Laura is driving as i am sure that Jay will sleep all the way to Minden where they are renting a cottage.

Way to go Jay. We are very proud of you.

A bird in hand

It seems like it has been such a long time since we just sat and watched the birds in our backyard.   The birds were out in abundance tonight so I thought it might be nice to take a few pictures...

Surprise!!

While John and Grace were away, Ralph and John planned to surprise Grace by us joining them for a golf game.  We drove to Belleville early on Saturday morning and played a nice round of golf at Trilium Woods Golf course.  What a beautiful course and what a great morning for golf.  Grace was very surprised to see us. We had a great time all together.

Jordan's Graduation

Congradulations to our beautiful grandaughter - Jordan who graduated today from Kindergarten.  We drove the 2 hours to St. Thomas and enjoyed some beautiful songs from her class.  She received her diploma and we then went to her restaurant of choice "McDonalds" for dinner.  I'm go glad that we went. She was "SO" excited to see us.  It was well worth the drive.

My tip to Ottawa

On Monday I had to fly to Ottawa for a business trip. I arrived around dinner time and it was so beautiful out that I decided to take a walk around the Parliament buildings. It was such a beautiful evening. I enjoyed my walk and took lots of pictures.
