A beautiful sunny day
Today is a beautiful sunny and cool day. The temperature is in the low 5o's but we shouldn't complain because it's going to be the warmest day for the next while. Yesterday it rained most of the day and as a result we cancelled our golf game. It's a blessing actually as I don't think I would have been able to walk the entire course. My ankle was pretty sore. We've been icing it and the swelling is going down somewhat, but it has turned pretty black. It's funny how the bruising is, as my toes are all black yet it's my ankle that is sore and swollen. Today Ralph helped me put my golf shoe on (it took some doing with the tensor bandage on) but the shoe acts as a brace and I can walk better with it on. I guess there is more support. We changed our golf tee of to this afternoon so we're about to head out after we finish our coffee. We've packed up our bags and hope to leave early tomorrow morning. We're have a tape sermon with us to listen to for our 4 hour drive down to Miami. We thought it might be nice to explore the area tomorrow. Ralph has to work a bit on Monday morning so I'll relax and enjoy my book. We're golfing at Doral in the afternoon. We're both really looking forward to that. On Tuesday we're planning on driving through Aligator Alley. We'll been invited to spend the night with Chuck and Claudia on Wednesday so we'll spend the day with them on Wednesday. I really hope that the weather is a little warmer. We'll see.

Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you all!! We hope that you enjoyed yourselves last night. The last couple of days have been nice. Yesterday we visited with Eve in Sarasota. She has a really nice shop with Orchid's. There are so many types that I have never seen before. I wish we had something like that at home! We bought a few nice orchid pots to put on our newly finished window sills. We enjoyed a great dinner at Bern's for New Years Eve. We had escargot and blini's with Fois Grois for an appetiser and then shared a 17 oz Chateaubriand... hmmmm it was so good and tender you could cut it with your fork. The meal started with french onion soup, and a house salad. I had a dressing that was a mix of pear and vanilla - it was sooooo good and Ralph had a Blue cheese dressing. There was so much cheese in it, it was amazing. We had hoped to see the fireworks at Downtown Disney last night but they were cancelled. There was rain in the forecast so I guess that they didn't want to do it because of that. We were disappointed.
On Wednesday we golfed at Falcon's fire. We had a bit of a mix up when we got there. They didn't have our reservation, but were able to get us in still. The course was so busy. It was crazy - it took 2 hours to golf 4 holes (3 par 4 and 1 par 3). You waited with two other groups at each hole. We were able to get 14 holes in, but only because we drove back to the first hole after finishing the 8th hole. Otherwise we would have been luck to finish 11 or 12. I got distracted while playing and tripped over the curb and feel flat on my face. I hurt my ankle pretty bad. I was able to walk it out and I don't think it's broken, but I think I have a pretty nasty sprain. I thought I was going to throw up with the pain initially. I was able to keep playing, but it continued to swell up and we stopped at the drug store in the evening and got a tensor band to wrap it up. It got really stiff over night and I was struggling with putting pressure on it yesterday. I was walking pretty stiff legged. Thankfully Ralph was there to help me and we didn't go for any extended walks. Today it feels better, but I'm still not walking the best. It's pretty bruised now and still swollen.
We're hoping the rain will stop as we have a 2:00 p.m. tee off. It's pouring right now. I guess we'll wait and see.
Otherwise, we'll go to downtown Disney and see what's going on there.
We hope you all are having a nice week and wish you a wonderful relaxing extended weekend.

City Walk
Last night we went to City Walk and enjoyed dinner at Margaritaville. It was fun to walk around and see all the people. We were stuffed when we finished dinner. They have the most awesome natcho's. We watched the movie "Push" last night which was interesting. Today we're off the Falcon's Fire. It's a beautiful day finally. You can go without a jacket which will make it nice to golf.

Well it's been two days since our last update. We've played some awesome golf the last couple of days. Yesterday we were at Orange County National which is a course that has two 18's, one of which we golf which was called the Crooked Cat. It was quite a challenging course. It had lots (and I mean lots) of bunkers and they were all protecting the green. You couldn't be timid on this course as it was very unforgiving. We played in the afternoon and it was quite nice, although it got pretty chilly for the last couple of holes. We finished around 5:30 which was pretty good
as it only took us 3 hours to complete our round. Ralph shot an 89 yesterday and I shot a 104.

This morning we got up early and went to Harmony Golf Preserve. I wore 4 layers of clothing. It was very cold - 39F and we were one of the first people to tee off. It was great today. Nature was out in abundance. That's what we love about this course. The birds were amazing. I have to say as well that I'm extemely happy with my 3 hybrid that I bought in Myrtle Beach. It sure can hit a ball. Ralph is really enjoying his new Iron's as well. A pretty awesome birthday present he keeps saying. We played a good game and Ralph shot an 87 and I finally broke 100 and shot a 99. I'm prettty happy with that. I could have done better but I had two holes where I just fell apart. Oh well, it will get better.
Tomorrow we're going to Falcon's Fire which is about 15 minutes away from our Condo.
We're enjoying a coffee and tea right now at Starbucks and we play to go to Universal Studio's City walk and enjoy dinner and browsing around there for a couple of hours.
We hope you are all doing well. Isn't it great news about Rob and Kristen? We're so happy to hear.
Cheers.

Today is chilly, actually feel's cold. Ralph and I are just back from church where we heard a very good sermon on the lost sheep. Rev. Sproul is a very gifted preacher and we enjoyed the sermon. The service was in their new church facility. What a huge building. It was full as well which is really something to experience.
Today will most likely be another quiet day. It's raining out now, so we don't plan to go to the beach or anything like that. We have booked 3 golf games in the next couple of days. Tomorrow we're going to a course called Orange County National - which is where the LPGA is sometimes played. We're playing the Crooked Cat which should be interesting. On Tuesday, we're back at Harmony Golf Preserve and then on Wednesday we're going to Falcon's fire which is only about 10 minutes away from our condo. The weather is suppose to warm up as the week progresses.
We enjoyed a nice dinner for Ralph's birthday last night at a restaurant called BJ's Alehouse...The food was delicious. We finished off the evening by watching Transformers. It was a nice day.
