Family Golf and BBQ
What a beautiful day it was today! We woke up to sunshine although it was a little chilly. Our tee-off time was set for 9:30 a.m. which was perfect. We all arrived around 9:15 and got off to a good start. It was still chilly when we started and the wind was really blowing. We played in 3 foursomes, and were well matched. The girls all played together. It warmed up nicely as we were playing.
After our game, we went to Linda and Homer's house and celebrated a "surprise" 40th birthday for Linda. Great food, and it was nice and warm. We were sheltered from the wind so it was nice. We ended the evening with a bon fire. It was fun. Tomorrow, we'll be all together again celebrating Sandra's Profession of Faith.

A busy weekend coming up

Well, I always look forward to the weekends. It seems that we try to cram as much in as we can to make up for lost time. This weekend is no different. First tomorrow Laura and Jay and the girls are coming to visit after they tour the zoo. We're going to go see the Fireworks downtown tomorrow night (weather permitting). Then on Saturday morning, we golfing with the family. There will be 12 of us in all. What fun!! I can't wait. After golf we're going to Linda and Homer's for a BBQ and a bondfire.
Sunday, praise the Lord, Sandra is doing her Profession of Faith. We're so happy for her. Teresa and Lawrence are organizing a lunch at the church afterwards. Erin DeHaan is also doing her Profession of Faith, so the Dehaan family will also participate in the luncheon. Afterwards were seeing Fred and Anna. We really haven't had a visit with them in a while and the kids are growing up so fast. Karl just finished highschool although he plans to go back for another semester before he starts with University.
Then it's Monday and back to the grind.... I can't wait till vacation time.
What do you have planned for the weekend?
Happy Canada Day
It's been a while as I was gently reminded since the last time I update my blog. I must admit that other things have kept me busy, but that's no excuse... I'll try to do better.
Happy Canada day to you all!!
We hosted a RibFest at our home yesterday. We haven't done it in a couple of years, but it was so delicious. It always amazes me how good each recipe of Rib's turns out, whether they have a dry rub, are wet and sticky etc, the taste is always amazing.
The best part was that the weather stayed dry. With rain in the forecast all week, we didn't hold out much hope of sitting outside, but it turned out to be a beautiful evening. We finished with Fireworks all around us. Too bad, Thursday is a work day!!

Golf Lesson's
Today was fun!! I guess because it was so COLD they thought it might be fun to change things up. We played 3 holes of golf all together as a group. There were 8 of us in total. We learned to do a new chip shot with our 9 iron. It was fun and an opportunity to see what Copper Creek looks like. Nice course!!
