Golf with some of the family

On Saturday we went to Guelph Lakes and golfed with Linda and Homer, Jim and Deb and Teresa and Lawrence. What a beautiful day it turned out to be!! The thunder and lightening was all around us, but we only had a few drops while on the course. We finished the day with a bbq.

It's been a while

Yes I know, it's been ages since I updated my blog. What can I say??? It's been a crazy ride this summer. Whats going on you ask? Well, sit do with your coffee and I'll share our summer with you.

To start my work is very busy. I've been to Vancouver and Calgary 4 times over the last 5 weeks. Not that travel is any different for me, but the distance certainly add's more time and these are usually 3-4 day trips. Then I've got to catch up with everything that I've missed while I've been away. I'm not complaining though, it's been nice to see these two cities, but I prefer home.

As well, our little Oakley is under the weather!! At the end of June he tore his ACL which is the tendon that runs along side his knee. We have no idea how this happened? Along with that he has contracted some kind of virus which has caused his white blood cell count to be high. Until they can get his count back to normal, he can't have his surgery for his knee. This is quite the surgery and the recovery time is 8 weeks. Ralph and I are pretty worried about his as he is such an important part of our family.

Laura and Jay and the girls are doing well. We had the pleasure of having them visit with us for a week early in July. We were suppose to go camping but because of Oakley's leg, we stayed home. It was a really nice visit and so much fun to spend this special time all together.

Weekend golf

We played at a golf tournament with the gang from the trailer. What fun!! It was a short course, but we still had a blast. The weather was very hot and we all got a little red. It was nice to see everyone...

What a nice weekend!!

Well the weather finally got nicer. We went golfing on Saturday with Teresa and Lawrence. That was fun. Ralph is still busy working on the deck. He is making progress, but it's a big job and it takes time.

On Sunday Kelli did Profession of Faith. It was a really beautiful service and so wonderful to hear her give her life to the Lord. We all went over to Ed and Janice's house for lunch. It was nice to be with everyone. We realize how blessed we are, when we have the whole family together (well almost everyone!!). We missed those who were absent, (Liz, Karen, Rob, Kristen, Andrew, Laura, Jay, Jordan and Hailey), but we understand that when the family gets so big, its just not possible to have everyone there. You were all in our minds and our hearts...

I'm looking forward to a nice summer.

My trip to Stanley Park

Tonight I walked to Stanley Park. It's about a 25 minute walk from my hotel. The grey sky was still there and it was still drizzling rain, but I thought it would be better than being couped up in a hotel room. The walk was nice and invigorating. The park is huge. I didn't really see that much but I walked for about 3 hours. My feet are sore :-) but I enjoyed it. I got lost a couple of times and I was worried that I might find myself in park when it was dark out but I'm discovering that it stays lighter here much longer than at home.

By the end of my walk, the clouds had cleared and blue skies arrived. They are calling for a beautiful day tomorrow. I expect to be finished sometime in the early afternoon. My flight isn't until late in the evening, so I'll see what else I can visit while I'm here.

I was very surprised to see Starfish when walking along the coast. I thought that they were only further south, but I guess I was wrong. I was amazed at the number I saw.
