My garden

While it's a slow progress, simply because of lack of time and truthfully energy, my garden in the backyard is starting to take shape. I lost alot of my iris's in the side yard, I'm sad to say, so I'll be looking for some cuttings in the fall from some of my friends ;-) I'm not sure I'll get the front garden looking very good this year. We're well into the warm days right now and I'll be away soon on holidays and won't be able to give them the watering they would need if I planted new flowers. I think I'll clean out the beds, mulch them over and just see what the roses will do and then plant them in the fall for a spring/summer showing next year.

Oakley..... isn't he cute

On Saturday, while I was shopping I noticed that they were doing a fundraising by taking photo's of your pet!! Ah, I thought, what a fun way to get a picture of Oakley and surprise Ralph. So today I picked up his picture. I think it turned out great and so did the photo studio. They were so happy with the picture that they want to hang it up and use it in their advertising. Oakley is going to be famous!!!

Lights !!&$?!!!

Those darn lights..... Poor Ralph, he must have spent 4 hours trying to hook up the lights on the front of the house. Somehow, somewhere, the wiring is wrong and he can't get them all to work. Needless to say he is very frustrated. I'm sure with time and thought, he'll get them working...

Blue Jay attack

Here I was, sitting by the pond, enjoying a nice cup of tea when all of a sudden something swooped down and knocked my hat off!! It was an angry blue jay. We have a nest in my neighbours back yard and he/she is very protective of it. I was planning on trying to take some pictures today, but it was certainly disconcerting to have it swoop down and agressively warn me to keep my distance!!

The eavetroughs are up

Ralph and Ron worked on finishing the eavestrough's on Saturday. They look great! We have been blessed with wonderful weather lately and for this I'm thankful, but now at least we know that it can rain and we don't have to worry about the water.
They also finished drilling out the holes for the pot lights at the front of the house, so Ralph hope to have these all wired and operational on Monday. I can't wait to see how it looks.

Jamie Graduates

Congratuations to Jamie vanBolhuis who celebrated his graduation from grade "8" and now moves on to Highschool. We attended the special ceremony that was held on Friday night!! He sure is growing up.. Jim and Debbie are very proud of him!!

Timothy Golf Tournament

The sun was shining and the greens were fast!! We had a wonderful time at the Timothy Golf tournament. We shot an overall of 76 which I think was respectable. We enjoyed the sunshine and fun with all the participants of the tournament. I'm sure that a lot of money was raised for this worthy cause.
