On our way

Well it's almost 11:00 p.m. and we're in Washington Pennysylvania. It was a rainy and wet drive so far. The roads have been surprisingly quiet although there is lots of construction along the way. Our hotel (The Hampton) is very nice. We're goingto enjoy a nice glass of wine/beer and then go down for a nice sleep. The temperature is warming up as we drive. It's now 61 degree's F. When we stopped in Cranberry, Penn., the boys wanted to buy some beer. That was an interesting experience. We ended up buying a 6 pack at the Pizza Hut. You could even go through the drive through to get it. We thought that was pretty funny...

Golfing for Timothy

Yesterday Wilf and I had the opportunity to represent Timothy Christian School at the Glenn Eagle Customer appreciation day in a Scramble tournament. It was a fun day and the tournament was well run. Each group was given a "fantasy" golf card along with a regular car to keep track of their scores. On each hole you were required to scratch one of 4 dots to get a number and at the end of the game, this was your team number. We scored a 94 in that game. Our team-mates were Robert and Daniel - two interesting people from Croatia. It was a fun day.

Weather forecast for Myrtle Beach

I thought I would post the weather forecast for Myrtle Beach and then compare when we return. Looks like it should be pretty nice don't you think. Certainly better than the rainy, damp weather we've been having...

God Bless you Andrew and Emily

On Saturday we enjoyed a lovely evening with the family and friends and enjoyed a Jack and Jill event hosted in honor of Andrew and Emily and their upcoming wedding. It's hard to believe that in a few weeks they will be married!! The Jack and Jill was held at their home with Robert and Kristen hosting the event. It was fun and the weather wasn't too bad either. Considering all the rain we had during the day, it was nice that it stopped in the evening and you were able to spend time outside as well as inside.

Weekend together

How nice it was to have Laura and the girls visit with us. I really treasure our time together. Laura came on Friday evening and joined us at Andrew and Emily's Jack and Jill on Saturday evening. We missed Jay who was at a cottage with some of his friends from church. Unfortunately the girls were'nt feeling the best. Jordan was just recovering from pink eye and Hailey was starting to run a fever. Poor girls.

Golfing in the rain

We woke up this morning and the temperature was a balmy 49 degree's F. Brrrr, we weren't too sure that we wanted to go golfing, but we still have a few games left, so we figured we'd try at least 9 holes. There was rain in the forecast as well. We got to the course and the wind was blowing like crazy and it was starting to drizzle. Can you believe it!! It started to pour. Troopers that we were, we decided to "hang in there". We both had rain gear and it wasn't that bad. At the 7th hole we saw Teresa, Arja, Ann and Tim golfing. They were evaluating the course for a Timothy Christian School turnament next year. We caught up with them at the 9th hole and enjoyed a glass of wine together while waiting for the rain to stop. It didn't appear as if it would stop, so we decided to play it out. Tim had to leave at the end of the 12th hole. We joined up all together after that and the 5 of us played together. It seemed to get colder and colder and the rain came down harder and harder but we played on. Finally at the 18th hole it stopped. Can you believe that! We were frozen and ready for a nice hot shower. It was fun, but not something I would want to do on a regular basis.

Not much longer

Only 8 more sleeps! I hope that the weather warms up a little. It's hard to determine what clothes to be bring when the weather is so cold here. We went tonight for our golf lesson and spent the evening hitting balls but it was hard to keep warm. I can't believe how cold it is. Tomorrow we hope to play a round at Glenway and next week I'll get out another time at Glenn Eagle. I'm looking forward to it.
